Back to Main PageAfter matriculating I went to the University of Pretoria to do a BA. Unfortunately, a year later, my parents divorced and we moved back to Italy. This was a real watershed in my life and I’m afraid I have never really managed to fit in here remaining a South African at heart.

I continued studying through UNISA and got my BA in English and Psychology. Since then I have worked as a translator, copy editor, academic assistant at an Economics faculty, and I am now working as Editorial Office assistant for the medical journal Digestive and Liver Disease at the University of Rome – Tor Vergata.
In 2002 I met my current partner Francesco who works in Telecom Italy and is also a sailing umpire, boomerang thrower and DIYer.I don’t have any kids of my own but Francesco has 2 girls from a previous marriage, Margherita (13 yrs old) and Francesca (aged 9). We spend 2 weekends a month and 4 weeks during their holidays together. I also have 3 nephews, 1 niece and a cat and a dog.
We enjoy travelling and motorcycling and we are often involved in refereeing regattas for children and boomerang tournaments. My own favourite pastimes are reading and Tai Chi Chuan.
Bridgette Weaving and I have always been in touch since leaving school and thanks to Facebook I am now back in touch with Cathie Hare, Edda Schlorke and Chantal Prince.
